"Doves In The Garden of Peace"

This panel was commissioned by two very special clients as a tribute to "the Father" and his loving grace in their lives and marriage of almost 57 years. During our initial consultation, we discussed the symbolism of the white dove…"peace". It was decided that this panel must show two doves in a garden to depict the peaceful balance in their relationship… the wife - flying nearby - always ready to help others… the husband - the anchor of their relationship… always there to lend moral support… both of them serving "the Father" unselfishly. I was truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with this remarkable couple.
The design concept for the doves was taken from the book Birds, Flowers and Butterflies: Stained Glass Pattern Book by Connie Clough Eaton, Dover Pictorial Archive Series. Thank you, Connie.
We chose opalescent Spectrum Glass to use throughout the piece. The panel was installed in a door custom-built by Ace Door & Window Service, Inc., Jacksonville, FL.
